Suff,

I hope you recover and are back to normal.
Last week I was getting stomach pains. Managed to seea doctor who gave me a good examination. Said it could be a water infection.
Gave me antibiotics, but the pain has gone. I got drunk several times when I was young but I don't drink very much now.
Sorry to hear about your Aunt. Hope ypour Uncle gets better.

Thanks all. I've had to start eating a LOT more to put in enough energy to fight this damned infection. It is going but the sickness is slow to fade.

My Uncle is starting to get to grips with the loss and try to focus his life and move forward. I've given some time that he asked for and I'm going to send our condolences by mail. At least he can read, know, but decide when to respond at his own convenience.

Autopsy results in. She had a fatal heart attack.

Funeral is the 17th Aug, I'm back in France and we have German Twinning guests staying with us, it is their last 3 days, so I think I will be flying myself, Mrs S will have to stay.

I'm sorry Suff and I do hope you can all take some small comfort knowing that heart attacks are usually pretty quick and she hopefully didn't suffer. And dare I say; dementia is a very very cruel illness - the heart attack most likely was a blessing for her.

Sending hugs

Thanks Ria. I take a lot of comfort from this and for my Uncle too. Small mercies.

This is very true, Ria. My mum had a fatal heart attack, and the paramedics said she couldn't have suffered as she hadn't moved from her comfortable position in her armchair.

I'm glad you and your family can take comfort from that, Suff xxx
