Good morning Wednesday

Postby Ally » 17 Aug 2022, 05:50

Good morning.

Hot hot hot. 8-)

Thank you for the birthday wishes yesterday. I had a fantastic day with Don and the twins and so many lovely presents. :cute:

My plan today is to spend it in and around the pool.
One of my gifts was a new lilo with a sun canopy and two drink holders. Genius!

That'll get plenty use in this heat!

A lazy day reading, relaxing and enjoying being home. :D

Have a great day.

Good morning Ally and anybody else who is up.

The sun is trying to com out. It is still muggy. Had some rain during the night.

More ironing today and another load is in the washing machine. Am slowly getting back to normal after the cruise.

Have a good day everybody.

Morning Ally, Cruiser and everyone

Blowy, so feels cold  But sunny, so if/when the winds drops, it will be a lovely day 8-)

Another first for August. We kept our bedroom windows shut (north/west wind) and had the very light bedspread on

Off to Ourique after coffee, Aldi, the joy that is Pingo, chemist and back to eat the sausages we should have had last night in a breakfast baguette. Popped down the bar yesterday and met the new people who bought Mitchell's sister's house and just chatted for ages, helping, them hopefully, with advice, where to go for this, that and t'other.

Enjoy your lilo Ally, love mine. Mesh bottom on it, so keeps me cool

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

My other lilo has a mesh bottom that I wasn't keen on.

I saw the word bedspread on your post and came over all giddy.

I'll try and find a link for my new toy. I've already been on it and love it. :cute:

And of course that's me and Don in the picture.

hello and good morning all

Ally that lilo looks awesome! - enjoy
Jan, the weather everywhere is just bonkers at the moment. Hope the new people are nice?
Cruiser, it's really nippy here - only 17 degrees; no rain though and we so could do with some. We had a bit of drizzle yesterday but that was it and achieved nothing :( The washing after a holiday is always a bore isn't it

Well another usual / usual mix of work and pootling for me today. I will carry on sorting through my wardrobe, a job I started yesterday. I ended up with piles of stuff to be donated because it doesn't fit anymore. I managed to lose quite a bit of weight a few years back but in the course of the past two years have put most of it on again and dare I say, I really can't be bothered trying to lose it again. Whilst I admittedly don't have the healthiest diet, ie I eat (and enjoy doing so) carbs / meat and enjoy my cheese and crips etc; I definitely don't have the worst diet either; I eat plenty veg and fruit, tend to cook from scratch, no ready meals / hardly ever any take aways etc. So I've accepted that I'll never be Twiggy; I've re-gained the weight in places that I haven't before (ie menopause middle :( ) meaning my body shape has changed and as a result lots in my wardrobe either just doesn't fit anymore and if it does it just doesn't look right.

But ho hum.... other than that; life is good

have a fab day everyone x

Morning everyone.

Well, it is chilly here, 12 °C with a northerly breeze, and we had rain overnight with more forecast during the day. The green out the back had turned brown but is now back to green again.

Ria, I also did the wardrobe clear out, and for much the same reason. OK, men do not have the menopause, but there comes an age when our body shape changes. Yes, we can diet and get (a bit) thinner, but the overall shape has changed and there does not seem to be any way to get it back. Sod's law.

Enjoy your day whatever you are doing. I am back in the shed.

Going to disagree here Frank - it's even less spoken about than menopause but there is a form of male menopause https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/male-menopause/ doesn't affect everyone but something men should be aware of ;-)

Morning all, it’s dull and drizzly here, it got so chilly yesterday evening that we closed all the windows that had been open 24/7 for about three weeks and I had to put on track bottoms and socks while we were watching tv :( I’m off out shortly to have my updated prescription lenses put in my frames, also collect the new readers I ordered. I’ll also pop up to the chemist to get my monthly prescriptions. We are expecting a new modem to be delivered today, so Edward will stay here for that and installing it will keep him busy. In the meantime he is brushing and then washing our wood floors, so I’d better get up from this chair and let him get on with it ;)

Morning, we’ve had rain for hours and it’s quite breezy. The lawn is covered in fallen leaves.

Bill’s in a depression because it’s raining and he hasn’t had his walk, which is because he won’t set foot outside in the rain.

Got a quiet day today. Joe’s picking up Amanda after work, they’re coming back here to go for a run and then they’re going out to eat in Lichfield. John’s going mountain biking after work with some people from his department so won’t be back until later.

Have a good day all :D
