Credit Card Scam

Postby cruiser2 » 03 Oct 2022, 09:05

Yesterday tried to buy something on line with one of my credit cards but itnwas refused. I had plenty of creditstill on it. I have had this problem
several times this year and have spoken to the credit card company who have said there is not a problem.
So I phoned them again and spoke to a very nice young lady. There wereb two transactions for £6.95 for two different companies which I did
not recognise. The credit card company have put a stop on these two payments, cancelled the card and are issueing me with a new one..
I cannot remember making these purchases and the names mean nothg to me.

I was able to use another credit to make the purchase yesterday afternoon wthout any problems.

Just shows how careful you have to be these days.

You really do, Cruiser. I make sure to check my bill online regularly and make a note when buying something from a supplier that might show up as a different name on the bill.

that's what they usually do Cruiser - small amounts to see if the card goes through / the card holder notices and then they go for larger amounts.

Good on your card for declining; they're obviously on the ball
