just checking in how Minnie and Millie are doing?

Millie hasn't been sick again since Sunday so it really was just a blip. Also a reminder to us that we will never be able to become complacent with her and will always have to keep a close eye on her.

She is such a Lurcher and steals food at every opportunity. We never leave food lying around (not that we ever did anyway) but now are extra careful about the bin lid being closed and what goes in bins around the house.

It's when we take her out that we have to be so careful. We live in an area full of fish and chip shops, donughts, etc and she scavenges constantly. Its also surprising how many people (complete strangers) offer a dog a chip, a crisp or other tit-bit in the pub! The bar staff in our local pub now know not to give her a chew - they keep them behind the bar for dogs and Millie always goes in and jumps up, front paws on the bar looking for her treat. Mick told them ages ago that she couldn't have them anymore but one barmaid sneaked her one when Mick went to the toilet - she couldn't resist the hang dog expression on Millie's face. She soon found out to her cost that when he said she couldn't have one, she really couldn't - especially when the landlord made her clean up after poor Millie.

I am looking forward to weigh day coming round this week - she must have put weight on. She hasn't stopped eating! She is on her 10th meal of the day today. She has taken to standing by her bowl for so long in the hope that she might get some more food that she falls asleep, stood up, next to it!

Lol Debih I can just picture poor Millie sleeping standing by her bowl
If she can't stop pinching food and being sick I guess you'll just have to get her a soft muzzle :?

Mm it's much much further than Andy's house, Andy's house is the equivalent of Harry's bench* :D Go to the end of our little road and turn right, and just at the end of there is Andy's.
Turn right, go down the road, cross over and go along the unmade-up little road, through the little alley and onto the road that leads down to the marshes. Past the big house where they put the apples out every year, cross over and into the little lane with the sign for the nursery, and at the end of the lane is field no.1 :D
Round that field, over the stile, and into field no.2. If Minnie's with me, turn left. If she's with Bb, turn right. If with both of us, she decides :) Round that field, but at the other side go through into field no.3, round that one and back into field 2.
Only go over the stile into field no.4 if you're going on to the park, as there are ponies in there so it's for walking through not for playing in ;)
Finish going round field 2, but once back at the stile (when fit) Minnie will go straight past as she knows we'll be going round again...at the moment she's happily doing one circuit, and without her ball flinger :)

*Harry's bench: A seat at the marshes, with a lovely view, but not very far from where you park the car. The place to aim for if you've only recently had an operation, or are very very tired from chemo, or you're just not able to walk very far. Used as a term of reference, as in, 'is that as far as Harry's bench?' :D
All clear now?

I love how you let Minnie decide which way to go when you are both with her - that's really sweet :)

Glad you liked it :D
Once my mum was unable to get out much I used to regularly take photos on my dogwalks so she could see the different seasons, the weather, the trees and flowers etc. :)

With the amount she has eaten this week she should have done.

If she hasn't then she is obviously eating magic food and I might consider changing to the same diet myself. If I can stuff myself and lose weight then I don't care what I eat - even if it is dog food!
