Morning Ally, morning everyone

Wet. Very wet. And also very dark  But mild at 18C.

Ironing for me then  and also red onion chutney making afterwards. Rita has never tasted a chutney :? so I'll give her a jar of it.

Found another source for wood. Rather more that we'd normally pay, but it's a local farm, so happy to help locals out.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

hello you two and good morning

Enjoy the lazy day Ally and enjoy the time with the boys - safe travels to Jacob for tomorrow
Jan, glad you found another wood source and good that you're able to support local (albeit more expensive :( ); enjoy the chutney making - yum! It's mild here as well - 16 degrees according to my thermometer; comparing to this time last week it's mad.

Work for me today plus a last dash for some Christmas shopping. Typical Karl he's left things to the last minute and then couldn't find the items needed so I said I'd help out and go into Guildford for him. Nothing much exciting planned otherwise

have a fab day everyone x

Good morning.
A lovely mild morning here with lots of sun.
In a while we will go and pick a prescription up and get a paper.
Later a visit to Wakefield to take some knickers back (don't ask) and to book a table for lunch later this week.
I hope Kaz and Jen get their water back on soon. The burst main near Jen seems to have affected a lot of people.
Is it me, or has there been a lot more burst water mains this year? There has been one in W Yorks where a main burst and the water got into gas pipes; there was water coming out of cookers and some people were without gas for eleven days.
Have a good day all.

Morning all, it’s a sunny and calmer one today.

Not much planned today, it’s the only ‘normal’ day I’ve got to myself for two weeks

Only proper plan I have is to listen to a lot of Terry Hall’s music, so very sad last night to hear that he’d died. From The Specials to The Colourfield with Funboy Three in the middle, his music is a huge part of the soundtrack of my teens.

Have a good day all :)

Morning, it’s a sunny crisp day here. Edward is going to play golf and I have a large pile of of ironing awaiting my attention. I might get out for a walk around the block - I fell yesterday, slipped on a wet surface when going to meet my friends, luckily I managed to land on one knee (so it wasn’t too undignified  ) but I feel a bit stiff today so a bit of a walk might help loosen up. Had a nice meet-up with my Boston friend and another school friend, plenty of chat, never long enough of course. I was explaining to Kellie that I had been friends with the two of them since I was her age, she was trying to understand being friends with someone for so many years. Of course, when you are 8, the concept of almost 70 years is understandably beyond you!

Morning all.

No burst pipes here but I hope Jan and Kaz get water back soon. It really is one of life's necessities.
It is warm and sunny here, not a cloud in sight and only a light breeze. The Highways team are here reducing the "ornamental" hedge in the middle of the roundabout just outside my window. The machine they are using to turn the cuttings into wood chips is making a right racket and that is spoling things. I might get out for a while to escape the noise.

Jo, I am with you re Terry Hall and all those groups - they were the Ska revival for me - plus Selecta, Madness, Rude Boys, etc..

Morning all :)

Mild and sunny today.

Well we have water, a trickle to begin with, now very low pressure, but it's better than none. Not getting too excited just yet, they've opened another water station this morning and say it will be some time before the supply is back to normal. We also have bottled water as a back up. Our promised water delivery didn't arrive yesterday, goodness knows how the housebound elderly coped, so we decided to visit the water station. It's only 5mins drive away, we were finally back home over an hour later!! It was brilliantly run, obviously the delay was because of the heavy traffic blocking the roads queuing to get there. Once there though they had it down to a fine art, we were ushered into small queues and told not to get out of the car. They loaded it for us and we were able to drive straight out, took about 5mins. We were also allowed to have some for our next door neighbour. A big well done to all the guys working there, some working their day off, lots of praise for them on our local Fb page. Sadly they did get some very abusive behaviour, totally out of order, yes it's not a nice situation, but no excuse to take it out on the workers doing the best they can. Fingers crossed we continue to get some through, even a small trickle is better than none.

Hope your supply is back on Kaz.

E's op is expected to be in approx 6mths time. Mr McCulloch said the knee is an absolute mess, not helped by the previous osteomyelitis ops when he was younger. He said he doesn't want to be driving rods into the affected bones so might use a robot. Alternatively if that's not safe he will insert splints. He's planning to consult and look into the alternatives. Either way the knee would function well and should leave E pain free. E told him about Barbados, he took the dates and said go and have a great time, it should fit the timescale very well.

After the early start and all the hassle yesterday we had a good lie in this morning. We'd probably still be in bed, but I had a call from the hospital. It was to give me an appointment to arrange a pre-assessment for my ankle op. Bit taken aback tbh, but apparently it has to be done so I can be put on the list. It's 29th Dec here at the QEQM. Still expect to wait 9mths to a year for the actual op.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Sounds good Jen, that things are moving.

ope your water gets back to full speed soon.

Still raining, we've had to let yet more water out of the pool, otherwise, it would be over-flowing
