Which is the nub of the problem.
Atm the amount of money that UK supermarkets are offering UK farmers for their fruit and veg is barely covering the cost of production; so many farmers aren't bothering to grow veg.

Ain't that the truth!

I get loads from the farmer's market and turn them into passata or chopped tomatoes and freeze them. They work ever so well in curries, chilies, Bognaise and stews.

And that is my problem WM I don't buy tomatoes to freeze and then make into,a sauce for pasta and stuff because pasta stuff I just can't swallow or even make
Probably because as a child I didn't like tin spaghetti which my father made me eat if pasta was on my plate wether hot or cold I had to eat until it was gone yuck
