It has taken months to get this sorted

Postby JanB » 07 Mar 2023, 14:31

I'm so fed up with the company that has Grumpy's private pension.

Every year, we have the same problem. We get certified copies of his passport and an electric bill - which costs us 20 euros each time - send them off, yes, he's still alive and kicking.

And every year, we have to go through the same rigmarole as they lose papers. This last tax year, we've had to do it three times  So that's 60 euros on signatures, heaven know how much on petrol and also money for sending them registered.

And every time, we get a different person, asking for the same thing.

So I fired off an e-mail to the CEO this morning and Grumpy has just had a video call with one of the managers and it's all sorted

With lots of apologies too

And just had a phone call from the "verification team"

Can you please confirm this is your phone number  Well, I just answered it, so yes, it is

And can you please confirm that your bank is Barclays, here in Guernsey.

How many times have I told them, in writing, over the last 10 months, that we have closed that account and moved it to Portugal?? About six, I think

So now the money that was due Grumpy last April will find it's way into our account, today or tomorrow.

Note the our bit

Am having a battle to get a direct debit setup to pay for a TV licence. First letter with bank details ent on 18th Januaty 2023.

Had a phone call on Monday after a letterthreating me with court action. Said I was a special case. But could not say when Im would get the direct
debit set up or the new licence.
Had the same problem in 2020/2021 and finally paid a lump sum for the full year to stop all ther hassle.

Cruiser, why don't you do it online?

Go here: https://www.tvlicensing.co.uk/cs/pay-fo ... /index.app

Click on New Licence and tick the "Yourself" button then go through the pages filling in the blanks. You will need the date you want the licence to start from (Jan 18th?) and your Debit Card / bank details and an email address.

It is quite straightforward and instant.

That’s how I did D’s Frank, when they rescinded the freebie one.
