We don't crush bottles or cans, mainly because our recycling wheelie bin is never more than half-full every fortnight - we simply don't generate that much waste.

What I do do, though, is meticulously put the can lids inside the cans, and any smaller cans inside the bigger cans .....

We get issued yellow bags for recycling. But we bought our own wheelie bin. So we have a bin upstairs outside the kitchen with a yellow bag and then put the bag in the wheelie bin. When the wheelie bin gets too full I get the ladder out and stand in it.... :D :D That crushes everything.

We get told of for that, we get a note on top saying please ensure things are put in the recycling bin separately

I think if they did that to me the next time they opened my bin it would say "Pay me and I will".
