Anybody got a steam cleaner?

I have an H2O steam cleaner. But the pads will not stick on and I am not very happy with it. It does remove stains from the kitchen floor.

Have seen a Sharp steam clener which has different design of mop and seems tobe better. Am thinking of getting one.

Any advice much appreciated.

I have a Karcher SC2 Cruiser and get replacement pads direct from Amazon - although I have to use Amazon.es.

For a smaller area I think you are probably better looking at hand held uprights, so can't help you there.

it's an interesting question Cruiser..... I have a vax steam cleaner but I don't use it as much as I did when I first got it and I'm not sure I'd ever replace it, in fact I'm quite certain I won't. Because they don't have any form of suction on them, so whilst they do lift dirt etc it sort of just spreads the dirt around more. I’ve got a Shark one which is very good, and it has a detachable handheld part which is useful. I had a Karcher before, think it was the SC2, but it wet the floors too much and they took ages to dry whereas they’re dry in minutes with this one.

I paid half that much though, it was an Amazon Warehouse deal and the only issue was that the outer box had a slight dent in it!

I had a steam mop and it was as much use as a chocolate frying pan - ditched it.

I have a spray mop with micro-fibre pads for a swish round after cooking, but I still use the good old mop and bucket for the weekly clean. The vac has a laminate / lino setting for picking up bits before I start any mopping if it is needed.

Have seen those in Tesco where I do most of my shopping. Hav already bought a bucket which has the small top for squeezing mops out.
So may buy the mop and give it a try before spending a lot on a new steam cleaner.

My first purchase will be a new lawn mower. The existing one is efinitely past its best.

We went for a petrol lawn mower two years ago Cruiser, love it after years of using an electric one and having to trail loads of cable around plus having to faff around with an extension cable when doing the lawn at the side of the house.

Ours is petrol too, Jo Much better than our old electric one for the reasons you outlined, plus it cuts damp grass - a huge bonus in Gloucester

Cruiser I have a steam cleaner, but to be honest I mostly use my mop. Mick uses the steamer when he does the floors, but then he does love a gadget

re lawnmower - I've gone for a battery one; best thing ever. super light to manoeuvre around and the two sets of batteries I have cut a fair amount of lawn. Only possible downside is that the lowest cut is still quite high; but that's about it. I absolutely love it
