Good morning Cruisr and everyone

Same weather here Cruiser. Nadine and I were near Salisbury yesterday morning and they had just had rain; not a drop along the way though. And this morning I heard that a number of flights were cancelled / delayed / diverted at Gatwick because of heavy thunderstorms - we are half an hour from Gatwick and heard some rumbling but that is is. The weather certainly passed south of us. We had a few minutes rain this morning (washing on the line got a bit damp again - got home late yesterday so figured I'd leave it out overnight (typical :D )

working from home day today - up to London this evening to meet up with two friends for dinner and theatre

Have a lovely day all x

Morning Cruiser, Ria and everyone

Cloudy start, not cold though and rain is forecast for this afternoon, but think it might just miss us.~

Washoiong machine on and general pootling for most of the day.,

Down to the Algarve this afternoon, to see the surgeon around 6.00. No appointment, so we could be ages  The clinic, rather than the hospital, is in Algarve shopping in Guia, so we can have a mooch around first. We both need proper sunglasses, Grumpy needs a pair of sandals and I'll always have a look in C & A

I'm still amazed to get up and can see without glasses, although close work is a problem, reading and the laptop. But we'll see what happens after the other eye is done.

Will stop at a restaurant on the way home for dinner, as we have no idea when we'll get out of the clinic.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all.
Another warm one.
The sky is a very funny colour though; like a haze that never properly burns off.
Off for a paper and to drop Jim's shopping off for him.
Might put another coat on one of the back fence panels; it's certainly the weather for it.
Have a nice day all.

Morning all :)

We’ve had two thunderstorms, one early evening yesterday and a rumble this morning. We got a LOT of rain with yesterday’s but very short and sharp, so most of it probably ran off into the gutters rather than soaking in. We need a lot more really.

Probably not meeting Em today as her mum is expecting a district nurse visit at lunchtime and Em wants to be there. She said she’ll message if the DN comes early, but I’m going into town anyway as I need a few bits, and to go on the sun bed.

Jan you might well just need reading specs for close up, that’s all D needs now :) xx

Everyone, have a great day :) xxx

Morning all :D

Woke up to heavy rain, E tells me there was a bit of thunder too. Dry and dull at the moment.

Not much happening here, expecting a Tesco delivery later this afternoon and that's about it.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Afternoon all, it’s hot and dull and so humid.

We went out last night, me, John and Tom, and felt the first few drops of rain as we walked across town into the pub. Got a table in the window, looked out and suddenly it was torrential for an hour with thunder and lightning too. We had a bit of rain on Saturday evening but really needed a good downpour, it’s been dry for weeks. This was the weekend of the concerts on the Chase, last night it was Natalie Imbruglia followed by Jack Savoretti and it had to be called off four songs into Natalie Imbruglia’s set as the weather made it too unsafe to continue.

Bill had a very early walk this morning. I’ve been a bit panicky the last few days about walking him because we passed a man and his dog on Saturday morning who told me he’d just seen a snake cross the path, that’s the path I was heading down which is the only one to take to get home. I’ve been walking there with Bill for 11 years and checked the common’s website over the years and it lists that the only reptile found on there is the common lizard. I don’t mind lizards so have always felt pretty comfortable but you know me and snakes

Have a good day all :)

Good afternoon,,
Went in the car to town. Waited 10 minutes but no sign of the bus. Was going to have a cup of tea. But the cafe I go in was closed.Notce said due to unforeseen
circumstances. It is usualy busy so a lot of customers wil be dis-appointed.

When I got home decided to power wash the flags at the front. We had a few pots of rain on Saturday evening. It rained heavily about four miles away
but I will have to keep watering the flowers. It wasvery hot in the sun.
I can't find the reel of string I useto tie up plants such as the Evenin Primrose. Will have to buy another one. One is already three feet tall. Bought long
plastic sticks which I re-use.

Jom we have a country park here really only used by dog walkers ,there have been several cases of snake bites in the last few weeks.
Twice dogs have needed treatment ,one cost £4500!!!
A woman wearing flip flops was bitten on the ankle and ended up in hospital for over a week due to complications.
Adders seem to be very active at the moment due I suppose to the hot weather
