Oh the hypocrisy

Postby medsec222 » 14 Jun 2023, 15:09

It has just been reported on the news via Guido Fawkes, that Bernard Jenkin, deputy to Harriet Harman on the Privileges Committee, has been accused of attending a drinks party himself during lockdown. He was quick to deny any wrong-doing but he was reminded that it was actually his wife's own birthday party. Apparently he cannot recall the incident. What a santimonious judemental lot we have in Parliament, on all sides. If this is true you just couldn't make it up.

On the Guido Fawkes website it alleges that Bernard Jenkin attended his wife's 65th birthday party in the House of Commons. His wife being a friend of the Deputy Speaker Eleanor Lang (Lang and Mrs Jenkin are friends).

When questioned by Guido Mr Jenkins "couldn't remember" if drinks had been served.
They had, the invitations for the party sent out by WhatsApp. People were invited for "drinks".

I don't know much about Bernard Jenkin but he does appear to be an Olympic class hypocrite.
