GB (fake) News, eh?

Factually corret, but....

When I had the shop I had to pay to cash a customer's cheque. I also had bank charges for cash deposits to the night safe and so on. It's part of running a business and nothing to do with going cashless.

Depending upon how the business operates there could be monthly or per transaction charges, but they are minuscule when it comes to tips. There have always been bank charges one way or another.

If you do not like service charges, which should go to all staff and not just the waiters as they are all part of the experience, then leave coins.

We are decades away from going totally cashless - if ever.

Thanks to the freedom of information act it turns out that this is exactly why Farage was denied banking facilities by Coutts.

And that BBC journalist who had so much to say, spreading the lie that it was because Farage had insufficient funds, seems to have nothing to say now!

Earlier, the chief executive officer of NatWest, Alison Rose, wrote to Mr Farage offering him an apology, after he claimed to have a 40-page document that proved Coutts "exited" him because he was regarded as "xenophobic and racist" and a former "fascist".

Asked if he did have enough money to hold an account with Coutts, whose website states clients are "required to maintain at least £1m in investments or borrowing [mortgage], or £3m in savings", Mr Farage said: "I have been a customer of the group for 43 years, I have been a customer of Coutts since 2014. At no point did anybody say you have to have this amount of money.

"These things are all discretionary [and] they were using this, frankly, as a mask to cover up the truth.

"This is not about money in the account, this is about the fact they don't like me."

After the story broke Farage himself admitted he did not meet the rules, see Sky News.

Strange. This stinks, yes, but nobody cares about the miserable excuse for a lying human being.

If the rich cannot use Coutts, and others, they could try the pleb banks, but they would have to mix with us poor. It is just not on.

We must protect the rich at all costs otherwise we are doomed.

Well certainly if you have the money then exclusivity is something you can afford. This is not new it has been going on, literally, as long as humans have existed.

The more interesting thing is that Coutts may lose significant business and money from this. Would serve them right.

Do I care if Coutts loses business to other similar businesses serving only the rich?

Not one jot.

It will affect me not, nor will it affect billions of others.

It was on their website!!! It's well known that you need to be rich to bank with Coutts, I was certainly aware as I knew when my client paid me with a Coutts cheque all those years ago - hence my remark about framing it. Farage knew, of course he did, but is using it to suit his political agenda :cute: He must be delighted by all the hoohah!
