Glasgow knowledge needed please! We are taking Michael to The Open golf in Troon next July and need to book somewhere, prices are already rising. As Troon is served by rail from Glasgow, we reckon we will fly to Glasgow, stay there and go by train to Troon. Edward has been looking at the Premier Inn at St Enoch Square and we were just wondering what sort of area is it? All info and advice gratefully received.

St Enoch Square is a great shout Osc.

Right slap bang in the thick of restaurants, train stations, subway, fab shops, etc.

It's a great place.

You really can't go wrong there for city centre visiting.

Ask away if there's anything I can help with. xx

Oh and the train ride to Troon is lovely.
It's on the way to Prestwick airport and we'd taken that journey to pick up the twins when they'd flown in for dad's funeral.

Flights and Premier Inn booked - we had to get in and do it as hotel prices had already increased for that week!

When the air traffic control problems were happening last week and we didn’t know if our flight first thing the next morning would be cancelled or not, Glasgow was where we’d decided to drive to if we couldn’t get to Dublin.

Love it there, it’s such a great city and people are so friendly.

What date will you be there?

(As I'm already planning to escape the three month heat hell of our town.)

Also, you mentioning prices going up already...

I remember years ago Don booking us flights to the UK and he went upstairs for his wallet and debit card to find on his return each flight has gone up twenty euros.
He was raging.
