On checking my bank this morning I have 5 bank credits .1x£25,1x£50 and 3 x £ 100,seems odd amounts if this is to do with the cost of living payments

I would imagine a cost of living payment would be one complete payment with a letter by post with an explanation

Vic, if you're not sure who they are from then please check your bank and put them on alert. Just in case someone has deposited the money to see if it's an active account an will then try hack into it as they have numerous details.

Rather safe than sorry!

This! Definitely.

Don't rely on your current account balance sheet, go to your statements and get the details of the payments.

It could be that a payee has made a genuine mistake with their account details and credited you by accident... but it could be something else.

Never look a gift horse, and all that.
