Recycling an outfit with cheap fashion

Postby Osc » 16 Jul 2023, 09:42

I have a black Coast jumpsuit that I bought at a very reduced price in a sale quite a few years ago. I always liked it but haven’t worn it for about four years. We have a few dressy up things coming up later in the year so I decided to see if I could recycle the jumpsuit. A dancing friend uses Shein to buy stuff online, so I gave it a go and bought a black lacy top to go over the jumpsuit. It arrived last week, decent quality and really “lifts” the jumpsuit. I was so pleased that I have ordered two more - result, three new outfits for just over €30.

The first top is the black one and the other two should arrive this week.

Despite Frank’s instructions, I seem to have lost the knack of posting images from postimages :?

I've got that white top Osc!

I wear it like the model has with a tiny strapped vest underneath and shorts.

Funnily enough only last Thursday I ordered a black jumpsuit from Shein. :D

Great minds....

I think I’m a little bit beyond a strapped vest and shorts, age wise ;) It’s my first time using Shein, I was talking to a dance friend who always has lovely tops and she recommended it.

To be fair Osc. I'm just a shorts and vest type of gal with simple dresses for going out.

Whereas you look elegant in your dance dresses. :D

I've used Shein for quite a few things now and been very happy with their stuff.

Those are absolutely lovely!!

Becky uses Shein and encouraged me to take a look - I bought two pairs of leggings at well under a tenner each, and they’ve been admired at Pilates :D

Oooh me likey.

That's an excellent price. I've seen similar costing a lot more than that!

*Will be having a look when I come back from the UK. *

You definitely should, Al! They may not stand up as well as my M&S pairs to constant washing, that remains to be seen, but at those prices who cares

I have this dress that was my first “posh” dress when we started dancing 20 years ago, we booked to go to a dance on NYE and I bought it in TK Maxx for €45. I’ve always loved it, apart from the sentimental value but have not worn it in recent years as I felt it was a bit bare for my age.

However today I tried it on with that little top from Shein, and voilà, it looks great and I can wear it again!
