A walk first then get ready for David picking me up at 11 and we're going out for breakfast.

Then over to Miramar for a shopping spree.

Sun and cloud after last nights torrential rain. Bit chilly too

Cleaning this morning and I'll make some veg samosas, bit of a will it work, won't it work, as the supermarkets up here don't sell the sort of stuff I want.

It was 11C when i got up. With the CH on it is now creaping up to 16C. I am sat her with a thick wooly jumper on under an anaorack to keep warm.

Must start having hot porridge for breakfast not col cereal.

Have some phone calls to make this morning.
Going to a Carol concert at Blackburn Cathedral this evening. Will go inthe car and have a snack before I go in. Proceeds are in aid of a local Children's Hospice.

Damned cold here at -1°C and we had another dusting of overnight snow so I have got my DM shoes and boots out.

They will be getting on for more than 40 years old and still going strong. In this weather their non-slip soles are a godsend.

Morning all, brrrrrrrrrr!

No snow but a heavy frost here and beautiful clear skies. My favourite kind of weather. Had a lovely long walk with Bill first thing, he was keen to have some ‘normal’ after a few days of unusual.

John’s off all week so is here, Joe thought he was working from home to do paperwork today but then had a call from his boss just before 9 to say that the work someone was supposed to be doing for him while he was in Wales hasn’t been done so could he go into the office.

The Tesco delivery is due shortly and I could do with going to Home Bargains after that.

We had a lovely time at the wedding, it was beautiful. It was so good to catch up with family friends too. We had to miss the pudding and coffee part of the meal though (I was looking forward to that sticky toffee pudding too) to go and see to Bill. Food was supposed to be served at 3 but it was close to 4.15 when we sat down and we had to be back to give him his injection around 6. The venue was 30 minutes away from mother in law’s house and we had to contend with rush hour traffic (and the new 20mph speed limit zones) so as soon as we’d finished our mains we had to get back, another lady on our table went at the same time too as she also had meds to give to her dog and was clock watching.

Bill found the whole being away from home quite unsettling so we treated him to a trip to the beach on the way home yesterday. We left at breakfast time and drove to Barry as it’s on the way home. He had a great time running around with the other dogs, then we went to Marco’s cafe for breakfast) (if you watch Gavin and Stacey you’ll know it) as there’s an undercover bit which is dog friendly so we had breakfast there. It was so funny though, we had bacon baguettes and we were the focus of every dog in there as we ate

Morning all, sun and cloud here and very cold. I have my mobility class at 11am and will drop Edward off to the golf club on my way. There is a parcel due to be delivered today, I’ve texted the postman and told him he can leave it in the nail bar. I’m getting a manicure at 2pm so want to pack for our night away tomorrow before I go for that. Going dancing tonight.

Cruiser, your house sounds cooler than it should be. The temperature in our house this morning was 13 degrees before we put the heat on, very quickly climbed to 17. I always say that 15 is the point at which I put on the heat. Jo, I’m so glad you enjoyed the wedding and I hope you were comfortable in your outfit - any chance of a photo?

It’s absolutely freezing here today! We left home at 8.30 for me to get to my SW meeting, and the car temp said minus one!! Good meeting this morning, one of the girls we sit with reached target, and I lost a little Since then we’ve been out for brunch, and are now nice and toasty warm round at D’s

Jo, glad you had such a good time, and that Bill was ok, bless him!

Afternoon all

Bright and very cold!!

We had lovely flowers from Z this morning. Not sure if they will make it here tomorrow, she's had a rotten cold all week and it looks like M and a couple of the boys are coming down with it too, She will confirm one way or the other later today so I can change numbers with the hotel for lunch if necessary,

Shame if they can't come, but we will be seeing them sometime over Christmas. Eldest daughter and husband are bringing David, Hannah and her partner are coming too so we will have a nice time.

Ed's tackling a chilli for dinner later and we'll open a bottle of bubbly so we can celebrate our 50th anniversary in style, So many happy years together.
