Apparently it will cost £31.71 for the meal for a family of four, cue cries of "cost of living crisis" from the media when the whole thing is only about 50p more than last year.

It might just be me, but £8 per head doesn't sound bad at all when compared to what pubs and restaurants will be charging per head for similar fayre - you could easily be looking at £30 or more.

If it's anything like our old Christmas Day meals there will be enough left over for another full meal the day after the Boxing day "Jacob's Join" buffets.

Our local restaurants are way dearer than £30 a head for Christmas day WM. Most of then want £60 or more, add a couple of drinks each and that's a very expensive meal.

My friend Em was thinking of doing this, as it’s the first Christmas since her mum died, but was quoted at least £75 per head

I never do a starter, there’s enough to eat on Christmas Day without adding another course into the mix
