The Deepfake General Election.

Postby Workingman » 21 Dec 2023, 11:40

There is concern amongst politicians and the media that AI and deepfake videos and audios will play a major part in the next GE, just not their versions.

Will anybody notice?

The electioneering and promises have been fake for decades. Truth from politicians went out of fashion when God was in nappies.

This has been a concern for some time now that other people will get their own lies in before the politicians get their lies in.

There has to be a level of sardonic irony in that.
There are 10 types of people in the world:
Those who understand Binary and those who do not.

The "manifesto" should be a legalbinding document.

If a politician says in their election leaflet they will do something and it is not done they should be kicked out of Parliament.

I agree with the sentiment, but it is never going to happen.

MPs would have to vote for it to be the case, and there is no chance of that. They are not as stupid as we make out and they know where the power is - in the HoC.

At least with a manifesto we can call out their lies at the next election, but we never do, we just put an X in the box and walk on. We voters are part of the game and they know it.
