We went to see One Life and I loved it, so if you get the chance, then go

Noe been to the cinem for years. I think Zulu was the last one I wenttosee ata cinema son after it was released.

I stopped going to the big chain cinemas years ago because the films were generally spoiled by all the wonks with their phones, coughing and chatting.

However, there is a small independent just down the road and it tends to concentrate on these types of films with afternoon shows for older groups, pensioners etc. I'll keep a look out for One Life even though the critics' reviews are rather bland.

I often find that the reviews of critics are the opposite of mine.

Frank, there is a small independent cinema near me that's been restored as a beautiful Art Deco style, complete with the old fashioned seats It reminds me of the old local "flea pit" I knew as a small child, except nicer Going there with D, a few years ago, to see Far From The Madding Crowd was the last time I went to the pictures

Shell is that the film about Nicholas Winton and the Kindertransport? An amazing story - I remember watching That's Life when they surprised him with an audience full of the "children" he saved.

Glad you enjoyed it, Shell, we saw One Life and loved it. I never knew but there was also a Kindertransport from Germany organised by a Dutch woman.

If I tell you the last cinema film Mrs O and I saw together was "On Golden Pond" .......

(There is a Community Cinema in town, in the Church Hall, but numbers are limited and it's book well in advance; we've never bothered.)

Last time we went to the cinema was to see film about new York getting snowed in day after tomorrow??
It was to load as well loved pictures when I was a kid abc miners on a Saturday morning screamed at every thing

Cottage Road (mentioned earlier) is one of the oldest cinemas in the UK, C1902. It was refurbished in the 70s and then upgraded from 2012 to 2017 to give it digital abilities.

It now streams operas, dramas, and performances from other theatres around the world.

It's a gem.

Saundra, Saturday mornings we would take jam jars and bottles to get into the Shaftesbury to see the morning matinee. 3d if you had no jar.

You could probably count the number of films I have seen on approximately 2 hands and the ones I have seen at the cinema in the last 10 years on 1.

My man once had a job as an usherette, so we got into the Saturday morning kids films for free
