Good morning Thursday

Postby Ally » 15 Aug 2024, 04:36

Good morning.

On the plane last night at 8.15 the pilot announced it was 35° in Malaga so I was prepared for that wall of heat when I got off.
Which is good as we're forecast over 40 today. Welcome home!

It was so lovely to see Don again and we went straight to our favourite pub for cold beers and a good catch up. :cute:

It's a national holiday here today so apart from a swim and Masterchef on iPlayer I'm doing absolutely nothing but relaxing on the lilo in the pool reading.

Have a great day.

Morning all :D

Hot 8-)

Up at silly 'oclock, got to get my car to the garage for 8.15 for it's MOT and service. They've promised to do it first, means Ed and I can walk down to Spoons and have a nice cooked brekkie while we wait. We'll pick up papers on the way and take advantage of their unlimited coffee refills after we've eaten. We did the same last year and it works a treat, much less faff than having to bus home and back. Fingers tightly crossed they don't find anything expensive needs doing.

Hope you have a good day xx

hello and good morning all

Welcome home Ally - enjoy the lilo / pool day! And same to you Jan, the lilo / pool bit that is :D
Cruiser and Jen, good luck for the respective MOT's - fingers crossed

Work from home day for me today. Had a lovely young man arrive at 8pm to valet my neighbour's car - it's an old 2002 reg Ford Fiesta and she's given up her licence so Karl and Nadine are buying the car off her for Amelia (who hopefully will pass her licence booked for November). The car is in a right state but should hopefully come up sparkling. Miles is about 20 years old and started his own mobile valet business and it's good to be able to support someone like him.

The usual Sainsbury's run for me but that's about it

Have a lovely day all x

Morning all, normal service has been resumed with weather, back to dull and damp  Hard to take after our recent spell of decent weather with yesterday being absolutely gorgeous. We had a lovely day at the Dublin Horse Show. This morning is dance practice then back to do not very much, Tesco due between 5-7.

Back home, all was well with the car, the service and MOT came to £205 so not bad as a yearly charge to keep my old banger on the road. Enjoyed brekkie and the man in charge came to pick us up again, it's not something they normally do but he's always been very kind. The garage is on top of a hill, walking down is doable, climbing back up not so much fun.

Afternoon :)

Glad you're home, Ally :D Enjoy the sunshine xx

Good news about your MOT Jen, hope yours went well Cruiser :) xx

Sounds like a plan, Jan ;) xx

It is nice to support local businesses Ria :) xx

Glad you enjoyed the show Osc, the photos were great :) xx

Busy day here, dental appointments for us both, then we took D shopping with us to Tesco. Back home and I was just contemplating the ironing when Em rang - there was a dove stuck in the chimney behind their fireplace and she needed help to get it out. Dave has a bad back, and is having a knee op next week so he couldn't help her!

We nipped round but couldn't reach. Mick has an endoscopic camera and chimney brushes, so if it hasn't found its way out by the morning he will take those round. Daft bird. The front of the fire is off so hopefully it will fly out :?

Love to all :) xx
