Good morning Friday

Postby Ally » 23 Aug 2024, 05:08

Good morning.

Forecast 37°. Going down nicely to hit the low 30s in September which is my favourite month temp wise. 8-)

I'll be having a swim shortly. :D

Friday beers and tapas tonight. I haven't seen the gang for seven weeks so it promises to be a raucous catch up.

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Grey and pleasantly cool this morning, although it will warm up once the sun comes out.

Spoke to Chris yesterday and she's feeling well and looking forward to coming out here, so that sounds promising :D She looked very well too and has a very fancy drainage bag

Cleaning and ironing for me this morning. Then a quick dip and off down tot he bar, I think.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning everbody.

Like Kaz we have had rain and strong winds. The sun is trying to come out but there are still lots of grey clouds. Still only 18C.

Just seen on the news that the fuel price caps increasing by 10%. Am thinking of camping in the Houses of Parliament to keep warm.

There are going to be some very cold pensioners as they will have lost the Winter Fuel Allowance and Now this increase.

Am going to have my feet checked this afternoon> i go every year as I am diabetic

Have a good day everybody.

Hello and good morning all

Ally, enjoy your Friday evening - such fun catching up with everyone after 7 weeks!
Jan, great news re Chris, wishing a speedy and comfortable recovery. Enjoy the bar and say hi to the folk I know / know me
Kaz, a tad windy and wet overnight here as well, but definitely not as bad as your side of the country. It's still quite windy though and apparently we're expecting more rain today
Cruiser, timely reminder - going back on a fixed tariff has been on my to-do list for a while; so something I need to get on with today; oh and also sort my car insurance as that is up for renewal and gone silly expensive so need to shop around

Other than that the usual Friday wfh day for me - I have a call with a recruiting agency today. Our company has been sold and effective 1st December (maybe a bit earlier), I will be made redundant which after 18 years in one company isn't ideal and I'm really not looking forward to this whole interviewing malarkey; but needs must; the mortgage and bills won't pay themselves sadly.

Have a lovely day all x

Morning all, it’s sunny here at the moment but there seems to have been a fair amount of rain overnight although I didn’t hear any of it! I’ll be going to mobility class in a while, then back for hairdresser appointment at 12.45, usual cut and colour. Edward has gone to play golf, after which he will collect Kellie from her football camp, she is excited that he will see her receive her certificate and then they will come here on the bus! Miss Osc will collect her around 5pm. Hopefully we will go dancing tonight. Just had an engineer from our telephone supplier phone me to check everything is back working.

Morning all, it’s dull one minute and sunny the next, still breezy but the storm doesn’t appear to have had too much of an effect though and the rain had stopped.

I’ve walked down to town and back to do some shopping, just waiting for the Tesco delivery now. Apparently it’s two stops away.

Joe’s back late tonight, he eventually found a restaurant with an English speaking waitress last night

Ria, sorry to hear about your job. Hope there’s something wonderful out there for you x

Take care all :)

Morning all :D

Rain was forecast for early today, but it didn't happen, lots of lovely sunshine right now 8-)

Ria I'm sorry to hear about your job, I hope something even better comes along xx

Not long had a text from Zoe, Elijah didn't get his first choice, but it was a big ask given the number of applicants. He's a bit disappointed right now, but he's been very happy where he is and their 6th from has a great reputation. He's done so well there already so in the long run it's probably the best choice for him.

Usual wash day here, no other plans.

Hope you all have a good day xx
