Good morning Wednesday

Postby Ally » 04 Sep 2024, 04:34

Good morning.

Going back up to 36° today. :o
Looking at my diary from this day last year that's five degrees warmer.

I'll have an early swim then get ready to go to Plaza Mayor as I need day and night face cream moisturiser.
Normally I'd walk to the Primor here but PM is all under cover and aircon so it's a no brainer.
Plus there's C&A there along with other stores so win win.

I'll pick up some ready salad and a chicken and that's dinner sorted.

No doubt back in the pool.

TV tonight.

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Very misty this morning, more so at the front of the house than the back  Only 32C for us today.

Into Ourique in an hour or so, get the shopping and chemist out of the way. Back for breakfast, then I'm heading off to the Algarve with a couple of friends. Only to the charity shop, as we have yet another car load of stuff for them and we can pick up material and books.

The material is for Lynda, who makes the most gorgeous clothes for children, for charity. She makes peg bags, dog coats and all sorts of other stuff, gives them to the Alerta team to sell.

Me? I'm just going for the books

Grumpy will meet us at the bar when we get back.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning everybody.

Still only 18C with some blue sky but lots of clouds.
Going to do lots of housework today. I can see lots of dust in many places.

Have a good day everybody.

Good morning.
Rain overnight, grey now.
Some doylem was letting fireworks off last night, after twelve o'clock.
I ordered some new bulbs for the brake lights of the car yesterday afternoon and they came in the evening.
You can see why people shop online.
I'm off to M&S later, happy days.
Have a good on everybody.

Morning all, it’s nice and sunny here for the moment, I left washing on the line overnight so hopefully it should be dry by now. Today I have my appointment with the orthopaedic surgeon to see what he is going to do with my knee. If he wants to operate, he will have to wait until November as I have stuff arranged before then  Edward is coming with me and we will go for something to eat afterwards so he won’t need to cook when we get home. I might also pop into Power City - my travel hot air brush died while we were away and they seem to have a small one so I’ll have a look. Before we go out, I’ll go to the post office to take out some money and also post a letter.

Some good news yesterday, I got an email telling me I had been successful in the ballot for tickets for next year’s Open in Portrush. Before we claimed and paid for the tickets, we had to hunt for accommodation - every hotel we tried was booked out for that whole week  We were trying as far afield as Derry and even Newry (that would be a two hour drive to Portrush :? ) but then we came across an apartment in Belfast which was available for the two nights we wanted. It’s newly refurbished and looks very nice, so that is booked plus the tickets are now claimed and paid for. Over one million people applied, we were lucky once again. Michael is delighted at the opportunity to go again.

Morning all :D

Nice and sunny 8-)

Osc good luck with your appointment xx
Ria I did think about Ed using an old pair of specs, but he got rid of them except his last pair which were damaged beyond repair. I'll see what the price is elsewhere, but in the end he really must have a spare pair just in case.

Woke up to hear Sarah Storey has won her 18th Gold medal, what an achievement :D :D The forecast is rain tomorrow and Friday so we're planning a walk along the seafront later this morning, but will be glued to the box playing catch up on all of today's action when we get back.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Afternoon everyone :) xx

Bit of a no brainer then, Al, if there’s aircon 8-) xx

That’s a lovely thing for your friend to do Jan :) xx

Afternoon Cruiser xx

Crommers I hate fireworks these days, they’re so much louder than they used to be  xx

I hope things went well with the surgeon, Osc. Our friend had his knee replaced a fortnight ago today, under spinal block and sedation, and is recovering really well xx

We’re doing really well with the medals, aren’t we Jen? :D xx

They all look so smart in their new uniforms, don’t they Saundra? :D xx

It’s grey here today, but not cold. Met my friend J in town for a cuppa, picked up a few bits in the M&S food hall, then walked to to meet Mick at D’s. We had an electrician round this morning to give a quote for finishing off and signing the electrics off, so waiting for that now. Spoke to Chris as he saw the surgeon and had his pre-med for next Tuesday. We’re going over on Monday to be around for him, just need to book an hotel nearby.

Love to all xx

The good news is - I don’t need a knee replacement :Hi: :Hi: I’m getting an injection next week, I’ve to have physio and take glucosamine. The consultant felt I was very good overall, plus he said that not being overweight was a great help. We are so relieved, neither of us wanted me to be out of action for about three months. We treated ourselves to a nice lunch afterwards and did a bit of shopping on the way home.
