That was a day and a half

Train into Lisbon was fine, managed to find the hospital after one wrong road, then found a decent cafe and had lunch.

Found where Grumpy had to be and then saw the doc only 25 minutes late  Which didn't bother us, as we had loads of time before the train home

He had to strip off and was checked all over. The upshot is that he'll be having surgery on 7 November - it could have been 3 October, but as we are going away the following day, the doc said it would be best to wait.

We can have transport up and down to Lisbon - saving on doing the train :Hi: and he has an appointment for February, as a follow up.

The doc is also going to take a biopsy of something on Grumpy's back, the was looked four/five years ago and was okay - then.

Back to the cafe for a coffee then strolled to the station, which was rammed  There was nowhere to sit, so we sat on some stairs, checking the time and the board. No sign of our train, so went to the ticket office and asked. A few problems, he said, but get to platform four and it will be called, but running a little late.

A little late was 45 minutes

Getting home in the pitch black wasn't too nice, but now having a relaxing glass of wine.

I should add that we left at 9.00 this morning and got home at 9.45 pm.

Oh Jan, and Grumps.

So glad that it all panned out, maybe not perfectly, travel wise, but you got there... eventually. Hopefully all will be well from now on.

Just get Grumps to relax a bit more. Let the weeds grow. They will always come back no matter what he or you do.

Harvest them and 'donate' them to Brian and Lesley as donkey feed. ;)

I seemed to have missed this Jan...what surgery will Grumpy be having?

Glad he's being attended to and has future appointments. X

45 minute train delay here would be a full refund automatically put back in your bank account.

Not a hope of that Ally

But we had a chat with two lovely students, both spoke perfect English and wanted to know what we were doing in Lisbon, in an odd part of Lisbon too, what did we think of Lisbon etc etc.

The announcements were made in Portuguese and English, but the English announcements weren't the same as the Portuguese

I can't remember the technical name, but he has a bleeding scab on his face which needs to be cut out.

Ah. That sounds exactly like what dad had twice in his forehead.

That's the one Kaz. He had one removed from his nose about 30 years ago.
