Looks like the whole of the north of the country is on fire

Last time I looked, there were 35 active fires

The link won't work, but there are even more now.

Heaven knows what is happening up there, it's awful, looking at the news stations.

First (and probably last) visit to the new Home Bargains store in town today.

To be honest, I didn't think it was all that competitive. For example those Skinny Bars (no coconut, Kaz) were priced at £1.49.
Aldi sell them for 99p and Asda price-match them.

Last visit because I didn't realise until we drove in that their car-park is a Parking Eye ANPR-camera protected one - my Nemesis!
Two hour maximum stay, and we were in there less than 30 minutes, but I don't trust their technology and am now awaiting a £100 fine. :cute:

Paranoid or what?

Hope you don't get a ticket, and that's a swizz on the skinny bars

I wish that link would work, there are so many fires, all clustered together.

Three bombeiros died today, one yesterday.

Absolutely heartbreaking, what they're going through up there.

Three people have been arrested for lighting fires and because the wind is so strong up there, many more are now starting.

We're now getting the smoke down here, although can't really smell it, just the sky is a funny colour.

Ish Jo. There are about 10 current fires, about 100,000 hectares of forests and land have been destroyed.

We've lost four bombeiros - one volunteer 60 year old had a heart attack and three others, again, all volunteers, died in an accident, when their vehicle overturned. A sister and brother in law.

And three people have been arrested, for actually lighting the fires

It was so windy, that embers were blowing a long way, then starting other fires.

Down here, almost nothing
