Good Morning Friday

Postby JanB » 08 Nov 2024, 04:45

Morning everyone

Another wrm ish day beckons, although it's rather dark at the moment

Not a good night, Grumpy in a fair amount of pain and I've (and him) been awake for most of the night. Molly has just gone and sat on the bed, so he's chatting to her

Coffee morning this morning and then a committee meeting afterwards, so I'll be leaving him either in bed or sat in front of the tv, with coffee and food.

Dinner will be fish and chips, he can cope with that :D

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Now it's light, we're having a misty type of rain.

He's still in pain - well, of course you are  although stuffed with anti-b's and painkillers.

I've got the samosas to warm up and will head off about 9.45.

Morning all, will this grey cloud that’s been hanging over us for so long just eff off  Off to my class this morning and Edward is taking a lift to the golf club with me. Hair appointment at 12.30, then we’ll go dancing tonight. We had our Covid/flu shots yesterday, thankfully no particular reaction apart from a sore arm. I’m tired too because just as I was ready to go to bed last night, “someone” decided he wanted to order dance shoes off the internet  By the time he found what he wanted, took out other shoes to measure against the size guide, then he was trying to order on their app - well, he had me doing it on his phone and the app wasn’t playing along.

Eventually we started all over again on my iPad on the AliExpress website rather than the app and after jumping through a few hoops, we finally did it and oddly enough, they were cheaper on the website than on the app :? They came in at €42 - lots of dancers get shoes on the internet as they are very expensive otherwise, something like he bought would be near to €150 in a shop here. I ordered two pairs of practice shoes earlier from Shein, total €35, and I know they are ok as I’ve seen them on other people.

Hope Grumpy has a good day, Jan.

Hello and good morning all

(((hugs))) for Grumpy and you Jan; hopefully the paid meds do their trick and he feels a bit more comfortable soon x
Hope you have a good day Osc, sounds a busy one

well an ex colleague has come and gone; he came to collect a few bits from the office that I had brought down for him when we went up with the van. Was lovely to see him.
The rest of today will be ongoing sorting and contacting people to collect some of the stationery that I brought from the office for them; geting rid of the stuff slowly, but surely ;-)

Have a lovely day all x

Morning all, it’s yet another grey one but the damp air seems to be having a day off.

I’ve walked down to town and back, just a touch over 4 miles. The Tesco delivery came yesterday so I’ve not got to wait for that.

Osc, we had a faff here last night too. Me and Joe decided last minute not to travel to the match. It’d taken him over 2 hours to get home which made him late anyway and when we checked the traffic app it showed that we’d got a 2+ hour drive and three accidents to get past. Then on the way home the M6 was going to be closed between two junctions for roadworks.
Anyway, it was just as well. John came home and needed to submit some ID for his mother’s house sale, all to do with the trust that it’s held in between her, John and his sister. ID had to include his full name including his middle name. One piece had to be his passport or license, they needed a bank statement and another two pieces which had to show his name and address and couldn’t be more than three months old.
Passport and bank statement were no problem although the bank statement just shows his initials, he had a tax letter recently with his full name and address but nothing else on their accepted list is in his name. All utility bills are in my name, because I deal with all things like that and if I need to call for any reason I don’t have to get his permission to speak to an operator. The council tax bill has his name on but is over three months old, same with the mortgage statement. He’s just had to submit what we had.
On top of all of that he also had to record a video of himself looking straight into the camera, then the right side of his face followed by the left

Have a good day all :)

Morning all :D

Dull and overcast

Poor Grumpy, hope the pain eases soon for his sake.......and yours xx
Nothing ever runs smoothly when 'someone' decides to buy stuff on the web last thing at night, sods law and all that Osc
Nearly all done Ria.
Blimey Jo, what a palaver :o
Hope you're feeling a lot better today Saundra xx

Had a lovely morning with Jan and Dave yesterday, their kitchen looks so much better. It's a lot smaller than ours so it was quite difficult to make best use of the available space and they also had to fit in a dining table. I think the designer made a good job getting everything in, but there's next to no work space. I'm guessing any dishing up has to be done on the table, there definitely isn't space for even two dinner plates on the available worktop. It would drive me mad, but they love it so that's what really matters.

It's wash day here, we had an unintended lie in so a bit behind, only managed to get the first load in the machine. Just as well we weren't planning to go anywhere

Hope you all have a good day xx

Good afternoon.
Weather wise it's the same old same old. Grey skies and not a breath of wind.
We have done the big shop today, MrsC is going to take Jim's shopping down to him in a minute.
I thought I'd woken up early this morning at just after eight. In fact it was twenty five to ten; MrsC had knocked the little bedside clock over and put it back up sideways.

Jan - bless that pussy cat! Grumpy has got a therapy moggy!
Yes, late night internet shopping can be tricky Osc. I still remember that time I bought a guitar off ebay. Drink was involved.
I'm gla you had a nice meet up with your colleague Ria.

Say nothing John, take the fifth! or just give a "no comment" interview.
Your neighbour's kitchen does sound a bit of a squeeze Jen.
Have a good day everybody.

Hope B had some good news Kaz xx

Coffee morning was endless, with a meeting afterwards, with lunch, so didn't get home until 3.00.

The patient is better, a little, and is getting a lovely black eye  He just has to accept that it will be painful for another couple of days.

I've been looking at travel, to get oop north and the train is not looking to be an option. Apart from the cost, even though we get discount, the timings are a little worrisome. So I've been looking at coach travel. Not ideal either, about an hour longer, but we can get to and from Ourique and it's a shed load cheaper. Might have to ask about a driver, like we had yesterday.

Haven't had to light the fire for the last couple of nights, been lovely and warm.
