Nuclear Wotsit

Postby TheOstrich » 16 Feb 2025, 20:47

Is somebody not telling us something?
Has Kim Ung Bungler gone and dropped the Bomb ?

It looks and feels like a Nuclear Winter down here in Dorset.
It's blinkin' cold and we've had, if I can paraphrase, at least Fifty Days of Grey.
Our heating bills are through the roof for the second month in a row ..... :|

We've gone through almost two ton of wood this winter

Normally have some left by march, but the way we're going through it......

In saying that, the days, this month have been glorious, but come 4.00 -5.00, we really need the fire lit.

Good to know we are in for a hard winter this year. We always seem to follow. Out of interest, was your last summer very windy? The spring winds this year just have not let up! Still the ocean is warmer than I remember it being in a long time, it almost felt tropical the other night. We even had a sea snake in Auckland the other day. While it’s not unknown for them to visit here from time to time, it’s very unusual, and we have now had 2 in 3 years (known)

It was very windy this Autumn, Weka, we have had strong gales I'd say at least once a week. Some of the gusts have been amongst the strongest on record.

We haven't had sea snakes, but we have been invaded by Aesculapian snakes. Or at least Colwyn Bay has. It's thought they escaped from a local zoo, but now there's quite a breeding colony established, Wouldn't want to find one in my attic!

Hiya Weka :D Yes pretty windy last Autumn, as Ossie said. I don't think this winter has been cold as much as wet, and relentlessly grey - pretty gloomy

Good grief!! I'm not.afraid of snakes (it's spiders that freak me out) but coming across one of those beggars in your attic would give anyone a shock
