Thank you all so much.
She's the same, very quiet, just lying down. She's had a little bit of rice and chicken.
Waiting to hear from the vet.

The results were late back today so the vet's only just phoned.
As suspected her blood counts are going down again. She said it's not a crash but is getting worse.

We had quite a chat; she agrees completely that there is little point investigating further for any underlying cause, since if there is one it won't be anything trivial/treatable. We might learn something, or nothing, and for no good purpose.
Another option would be to treat her aggressively again, with both the Imuran and the top dose of steroids. Neither of us were at all keen on this as the Imuran is so powerful, and that with the steroids themselves made her so ill.

She said if it was her dog, she would have just one more go on a higher dose of steroids; not as much as at the start before, but a lot higher than now, so that's what we shall do. She's been on 5mg a day; we still have plenty of the 25mg ones so we're to give her one of those tonight, another in the morning, and then once a day.
Just for a few days, to see if it does her good.
Unless there's a crisis or she's obviously going further downhill we'll take her back on Tuesday or Wednesday and see what we all think then.

Thank Ally.
Apart from anything else I don't want eldest's memories of his 18th birthday spoilt for him.

Been thinking about you all Di, and Mick sends his love and best wishes too. We can't even begin to imagine how we would be feeling if it were Pepper.

Love vibes and strength to you all {{{{{{{{{{{{{{Di, Bry and Minnie}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} xxxxxx
