18th Birthday Cake

Here it is :D
I was going to put his name on the black bit but couldn't cut the letters small enough and was worried about piping going wrong! I'd saved the rest of the cake so made a small one just for his name :)

Di, that looks just too good to eat. It is a shame that it has to go under the knife at some point. You're a bit of an artist as well as a damned fine baker.

Sam will be well pleased. :D :D :D

Thank you all :D
You should see it now! I don't know who was more upset about cutting it, him or me :D I'd managed not to let either of the boys see it.
Bb's niece and her bloke came too, so she took home a piece for Dylan. Eldest is taking the bit with his name on home, and there's just the head and a bit of neck/body left - I've taken a picture :D

The restaurant was lovely, everyone enjoyed the food; I had local sea bass fillets, with a goats' cheese, orange and walnut salad which was lush :) The waiter and I took the cake straight through to a service area when we got there, checked nothing had got damaged on the way, and they brought it out at the right time, candles lit, singing Happy Birthday, and with a pile of plates and napkins :)
A big success :D
