The problem with shopping ahead for Christmas.....

Postby Osc » 26 Nov 2012, 17:04

,,,is that you buy stuff, put it away and then forget what you have  I'm going Christmas shopping tomorrow and went to check on the bits and pieces I had already bought - had forgotten that I had half of them  Mind you, I have more than I thought so that makes the list for tomorrow's expedition a bit shorter :D My son-in-law is the main problem, I just never know what to get him, he buys himself anything he wants anyway and has expensive tastes  I'm going to get him Darren Clarke's autobiography, because he's a golfer and will hope for some inspiration when wandering around the shops. Miss Osc hates it if I ask her what to get him :(

Or you forget where you've hidden it! :?  Or that you gave in and gave it to someone early. I looked everywhere for Mick's PJs I bought weeks ago and the furry hat I bought B at the same time, only to suddenly remember I gave her the hat already   Where the PJs are is anybody's guess :|

I've almost finished my Christmas shopping. However I just know that whilst out and about I'll get caught up in it all and buy more...at least Ellie wont be complaining!

Another thing....why are men so difficult to buy pressies for?

It's my parents and John's Mom that I always struggle with.
Mostly everything else is bought though, just waiting for Tom's Wii U to be released and delivered with some of the new games being released alongside it.
Oh, and then there's the food shopping :?

Shopping ahead for men would be Christmas eve morning. ;)

As for buying presents for us.... what's so difficult about socks, underwear, handkerchiefs and after shave? It's not as though we buy them for ourselves ever.

Frank, before we had the children I was in work one Christmas Eve. John had dropped me off at 8.30am and then headed into Birmingham, which is half an hour away, to do his Christmas shopping. He called me from home before 10am to say he'd got it all, he'd wrapped it and was sitting down with a cuppa and a movie

He's got it even easier now - I do it all for him, even my own! :P
