Unless we're in Birmingham and John needs a reviving Starbucks, which is usually around the £2.40 mark, we only ever buy coffee if we stop for a rare treat at one of the cafes on the Chase whilst walking Billy and there we pay around £1.40 for a cup.

I guess I was a bit taken aback because I'm conditioned to only paying 80p to £1.20 for a polystyrene cup of dishwater purporting to be coffee at my various local soccer grounds ....

Not really Ossie. The Hellenic and its sister, Olympic, have been here for donkey's years and are well known. It also depends on how much you get. Their cups are like small mugs about 3" high and 2" diameter. Not big, but the coffee is well worth it.
