New royal photos

What were they thinking of? These photos are awful. I could do better.

Why on earth didn't they just follow the norm and have some professional photos done indoors.

These photos have to go down to posterity. They just aren't fit.

I actually quite like them, they are so unstuffy, just nice regular family photos.

They keep trying to be an nice ordinary young couple and doing things informally, but the thing is that they are not an ordinary young couple. Their photos will be history.

I am no Royalist, by any stretch, and I agree that they are not the normal family, but even so they must surely be allowed to have some family 'snaps' as well as the elegantly posed and ultra official 'portraits'?

Well yes of course, but you see I read somewhere that William had said there would be no official photographs. These were being presented instead. They are nice family photos, but not in any way good enough to go into the history books. Also, her father is no photographer, even for informal photos. Their faces are all in shadow. That is one of the basic things about taking photographs.

They can't, you're right there Kate!
I think they're lovely too, so much nicer than posed formal photos - and I'm sure some of those will be released to the public when the baby is Christened. These though are just nice, natural family snaps.

They don't even merit the name photographs!
