I have a new gadget

I am a sucker for buying kitchen gadgets, using them a couple of times and then putting them in the kitchen gadget graveyard (aka the pantry).

But I have bought a new kitchen gadget that is getting loads of use. We have never had one before as we didn't have room on the work top and since the kitchen has been done and I have loads of work top space Mick kept asking me to buy one when I went shopping. But I like empty worktops so put off doing so.

A couple of weeks ago I caved in as I saw the gadget on offer in Sainsburys and it was chrome and shiny and I knew it would look good on display.

And it is being used. Daily. By everyone!

What is this wonderous gadget I hear you all ask. Something that we have lived without for nigh on twenty years.......................

I couldn't live without mine, but we never had one when I was growing up - we had an eye level grill and used that

We do have one but it's not used much. This week it's earned its keep. Bb doesn't usually eat breakfast, but apart from all the drops has to take 2 capsules a day, shortly before or after food, so he's been having a slice of toast each morning
Oh and it was a godsend when we came home from the hospital, I stopped at the garage and bought a sliced white loaf, and we had beans on toast

That's what I want to know as well!

now if you either make your own bread or live somewhere like Germany that has fantastic bread then I could understand, but most of the bread here in the UK HAS to be toasted

Ah well, I do make virtually all of our bread
Monday had been a fast day so there was none but beans on toast was what I knew we needed

Or better still, how we sometimes cooked it when I was little - on a toasting fork by the open fire Oh the taste............

We never had the room for one in the old kitchen - I only had a tiny worktop space.

I love toast - it is my favourite comfort food.

We used to use the grill before and it was always a faff. I love the toaster.

We all use it every morning, I use it again at lunchtime and last night Mick and I used it for toasting crumpets.

And I make nearly all our bread - but I still love it toasted.

In fact, I might go and cut a slice to shove in now. Dripping with butter and honey. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm

LOL, I can say with complete honesty that the toaster is on as we speak !

We could do with a replacement, but we've found it quite hard trying to track down a decent one that does 4 slices rather than 2 ....

We even buy Warburtons Toastie bread ... and I really shouldn't have any as I'm trying to keep to a carbo-free diet ....
