Logging in

Postby Aggers » 15 Dec 2012, 13:52

I find that lately I have to log in here every time, although I always tick the box to
log me in automatically each time.

I have tried deleting cookies, etc, but that's made no difference.

Does anyone else have this problem , and is there anything I can do about it ?

I recently had the problem of continually having to re-log into everything. It drove me mad. I got some good advice from WM and from Suff, and it is further down this board with the heading Problems with IE9

Another thought for Aggers and Lissie.

Down at the bottom of most VV pages is the option to 'Delete all Board Cookies' you could try that then logout of VV, close your browser, wait a while and open it again. You will have to login again, but it might reset things quickly.

No, Frank, mine's still working but it's still refusing to automatically log me in. I'm still working on it.

The only thing I can think is that you have taught it to remember the wrong password. Given that the login now works whereas in the .com it was not working properly.

Try the following,

Log out
Got to Tools->Internt Options->Content->press the settings button in the autocomplete section
Click on Delete Autocomplete History
Uncheck everything but cookies and passwords Beware this will delete ALL your saved passwords for all sites
Select Delete

Then Go back to the log in.

Uncheck the "Log me in automatically" and confirm you can log in. Do NOT save the password in IE
Log out
Log in again and this time Check the Lot me in automatically and save the password in IE when it pompts.

Hopefully that should reset all saved passwords, cookie data and anything else which might be part of the process.

With regard to this logging-in problem, I have tried all the suggested remedies, without success.

Incidently, I do not have the same problem with other websites.

I prusume, therefore, that it is a peculiarity of this Gripsky site.

It's not too much inconvenience however, as my computer remembers my name and password when prompted.
