Ubelievable

Postby KateLMead » 06 Nov 2013, 07:52

More revelations by the day with respect to the cheating, bullying of staff, forced to lie about the numbers of people being treated in Colchester, who have cancer and other serious conditions resulting in premature deaths including the little four year old who died of a brain tumour.
Staff were bullied, harassed, threatened and pressured TO LIE as to the numbers of those treated. Desperately ill patients made to wait up to four months for urgent cancer care..Pathway has come under scrutiny again.

This outrageous revelation is just the tip of the iceberg.

I think you are right about it being the tip of an iceberg. Seems Stafford wasn't a one-off by any stretch of the imagination .....

It's part of the failure of the "management culture". Put people in charge - they don't have to know the business. Just make sure data is provided, boxes are ticked, procedure is followed and progress measured, and everything will be all right.
As all these scandals so far show, and those scandals still to come will confirm, this is wrong.

Lots of icebergs and lots of tips - hospitals, children's services, different types of care homes etc. - all waiting to capsize, as icebergs often do.

That is right Frank. Exposure after exposure from now on, however the guilty will as usual get away with their crimes, and their actions are criminal

Pathway is under investigation again, oh the fury my posts instigated when I raised the subject last year! Like all the other malpractices these shocking acts have been kept secret, and hidden under the carpet

Kate, LCP is in the news again because its proponents now claim that patients are now dying in agony since it was suspended and then scrapped because it was seen as “something to be done”.

However, a new system, with different guidelines, is now being drawn up - a system that puts patients and their families at the centre of the treatment plans and care process. Let's hope it works eh?
