I have made a decisions.

Mussels in a sauce with chunky bread. Yum yum

I checked already and they all do.

You'd have to have pizza and garlic bread with the kids MM.

Oh how I love mussels :D
For years it was a 'thing' that I had them on my birthday (January).
Even after being poisoned by one in France and having to avoid them for 3 years I still love them :D :x

I used to go to Calais regularly with a mate for the day, on a wine run ;) It was such a brilliant outing, driving into the town and having lunch, whether in the summer sun or in the winter by the open air skating rink.
Huge bowl of mussels, sometimes chips, fresh crusty bread...heaven :) :D

I had a moules en frites for my 40th birthday. It was lovely.

We were in Bruges visiting friends and they couldn't get the day off work for my actual birthday but were off the following day.

So Mick, the girls and I had a horse and carriage ride around Bruges and then went to a very expensive cafe in one of the main squares and had moules and frites and Belgium beer. It was February and very, very cold so we were all wrapped up in blankets on the carriage ride and the canals were all frozen over.

The following day we went out for a three course meal - which was cheaper than the moules en frites!!!!

The moules frites in Calais were cheap as chips :x :D

I'm allergic but do like them, I ate them in France before my allergies kicked in - they just don't like me!!! :o :? :shock: :roll:

That's what we had for dinner yesterday as I'd been running around all day and couldn't be bothered to cook - a crusty loaf from a local bakers and chips from the chippy :P

Bb made a confession once ;) :oops:
He and a mate would go from school at lunchtime; first they'd stop at the bakers and buy a bloomer loaf.
They'd walk up the road, picking at the loaf, eating off the end and the inside. By the time they got to the chippy they'd have hollowed out the loaf and there was room inside the loaf for a portion of chips :shock: :D :lol: :x :evil:
