He and a mate would go from school at lunchtime; first they'd stop at the bakers and buy a bloomer loaf.
They'd walk up the road, picking at the loaf, eating off the end and the inside. By the time they got to the chippy they'd have hollowed out the loaf and there was room inside the loaf for a portion of chips  :D  :x

We used to do something similar but with tomato soup. We'd buy a mini bloomer loaf, take out the inside, pour in the tomato soup (bought from the same shop as the loaf) and then dip the bread we'd ripped out into it, eventually eating the soggy bread that had held the soup.

Then we'd go back to school covered in orange liquid. We always had tomato soup.

Neither were we.

Thankfully my two girls tend to toe the line when it comes to school. I'll wait until they've left before I tell them how naughty I was. Dont want them getting any ideas!!
