Ah Bless!

"All's well that ends well," as Shakespeare would say, or "What a load.......," as the football chant goes.

Sorry, but I could neither like, nor dislike, any of the characters; I just didn't care.

They didn't 'just settle' though....looked like both had a lot of work to do to repair the relationships. And yes Sally did have a new bloke, but I thought the baby was Ryan's anyway......

We all see things differently though, proving that our own histories colour our perceptions :)

How very true.

I thought there was such pathos at the end knowing that she had found another man after all.

I feel the same. I watched the second part because I liked all the actors, but it was just an old, old story reheated

Have to disagree. There was far more to it than that. The nuances of emotion ran through it continually; and the awful self-doubt and indecision was really well portrayed. I thought the actors handled it so well. The facial expressions spoke volumes and made you able to read the feelings behind them. I felt every bit of their joy and the agony of regret.

How touching when they were in his parents cottage (that was in Dorset) watching the television together and Carl kept changing channels and Sally said exactly the same as his wife did - can you stop doing that. How touching as they lay in bed together not having sex and Carl said he thought being pregnant was an aphrodisiac and Sally said that it is if it's your baby!

Beautifully written, wonderful acting and a perfect cast.

Just watched the second part, and enjoyed it :)

As soon as they were alone in that cottage it was obvious it would never work.
The bit when Ryan said about the deposit was priceless, and no doubt made her mind up.
Sorry to see Carl back to commuting, but they had to construct him seeing Sally.
Guess she may have been 3 months or less, so had the baby 17-18 months ago? Yes, looked younger than that, but still, good to see her away from Ryan.
It was very true to life I thought, but maybe it depends on what life we've led? :)

Reading round it appears to have been a bit 'Marmite'.

All I can say is that it's a good job we do not all like the same things.
