Chickpea and spinach soup - with spices

Postby tonicha » 18 Jan 2014, 16:31

I made it earlier, but left out the spinach, as we were going down for a beer or three, before dinner. I tasted it before we went and thought......erm, okay, not bad.

We came back to the most fantabbytobbey smell :D :D :D

So I had to have a taste, even though it was getting cool - it's fantastic :D :D :D cue the dancing girls.

I'll put the spinach in later, just before we eat and if it's as gorgeous as it smells and tastes now, then I'll post it tomorrow :D :D

I've also made some chilli and garlic naan breads, so I am really looking forward to dinner now :D

I put a chickpea and spinach recipe on here yonks ago for Debih - think it might have been on the 'old' board.

It's such an easy recipe, isn't it. :D :D

I love chickpeas and I love spinach. :D :D :D

I've just had a look at my recipe and mine is a BBC good food one..it's been well used!

I'd always add the spices to give it va-va-voom as just chickpeas and spinach might be a bit bland on their own.

I've decided we'll have that tomorrow but I'll add some chopped chicken as well. :D :D :D

Think I've written down one of your spinach and chickpeas curry things Ally - it'll be in my scrapbook somewhere. Something else to try. :D

Hmmmm, hummus soup: lush.

Ton, if you make it thicker you have a base for hummus, once you have that the world is your lobster. A bit of tahini, garlic, sesame seeds.....

When I was in the ME there were all sorts of varieties for dipping or spreading..... or simply gorging on. :D :D :D

ALE, the dips had things like chicken, prawns, nuts and so on added. I was addicted.

Now I'm hungry. :o

I am such a pig - today I've had 2 breakfasts.

Lunch out.

Snackettes.

And we're going out tonight for beer and food.

Chickpea and spinach curry is a firm favourite in this house WM.

Now I'm hungry again.
