why is it that when i type the letters don't appear instantly?

My laptop does that sometimes too, no idea why though.

There are so many things........

Try the simple ones first. Go to Control Panel>>>Keyboard, then adjust the settings to see if things change.

That has happened to me once or twice. I just rebooted - being an IT Crowd fan that's usually my first remedy of choice - and that did the trick
