Eyebrows and Volumising hair powder

Di and I were having a conversation on Facebook on a thread of Becky's LOL about eyebrows  As you do   I was saying how the make up lady on Wednesday filled in my eyebrows really nicely using brown eyeshadow and an angled brush 8-) I've always had sparse brows, ever since I plucked all of mine out aged 13 to pencil in a thin line, as was the fashion - they never grew back properly  For years I have either not bothered or used a bit of pencil, but this method the lady on Wednesday used is great. She said you can buy brow kits with powder and a brush in but really there is no need, any matt brown shadow will do. I've tried it myself since and it's really easy - and they look very natural :)

I'm also pleased with the hair powder she showed me too - well the version of it that I bought anyway. She used an IQ one but I bought a Batiste one in Superdrug, it was on the shelf next to the dry shampoo :D It's a volumising/pluming up powder, it comes in a little tin with a sifter lid, like talc, and you rub a little into dried clean hair to give the roots volume..............it works particularly well on layered hair as it lifts the layers. My hair is very thick still, she remarked on that, but very fine in texture with no natural curl or volume whatsoever - so this stuff is miraculous for me :) 8-)

I have some of that eyebrow mascara which works pretty well - not only are my eyebrows full of gaps due to overplucking over the years, but now of course some of the hairs are white which makes them look even more gappy

Miss Osc had that Batiste stuff in a spray can (I think) when we were in Belfast, and one of my dancing friends has been using it as well - they both say it works really well.

Oh I saw the spray, might try that next time then just to compare 8-) ;)

The eyebrow mascara sounds good but I don't really have enough hairs for it to cling to :?

Talking about eyebrows, I considered having mine tattooed, but decided against it. Now I use a taupe eyeshadow with a little wedge brush for the start bit of the brows which need to look a bit wedgy. Then I use my Jane Iredale Bitty Brow Kit which is fabulous with tiny little brushes, powder and wax. Actually I don't need the wax as I haven't enough eyebrow hairs to need waxing, but the kit itself is really good and gives a good natural fine line.

I think you were wise, tattooed brows look ok on dark haired girls who are young, but the rest of us would look a bit overdone I think :? I am so pale and fair they would look ridiculous
