Just a thought - How does one refer to the new variety of same-sex newly weds ?

Do you say, 'Mr and Mr Smith' or, 'Mrs and Mrs Jones'?

As it's Sunday I won't tell you my answer.

But then I am an old die-hard.

Now that I'll never be able to understand.

Gay marriage doesn't bother me at all; if it doesn't harm anyone else then I don't care what people do.

But as homosexuality is inborn how can someone suddenly decide to become gay after living with someone of the opposite sex and having children ?

It makes no sense to me.

Being straight I could no more have a relationship with a woman than fly to the moon; the whole concept makes me feel quite ill as far as my personal feelings go.

So either some people pretend to be straight, or gay, and really aren't, or it's truly inborn.

You can't have it both ways...literally

Marriage to me is between a man and a woman, as it always has been.
It's like having a brick wall in your garden for 50 years and then someone comes along and tells you that from now on it's a fence.
I have nothing against gay people. If they want to live together fine; but "getting married"?

I have no problem with same sex marriage, I should imagine gay couples in love want to be able to make a public declaration of their feelings, and make a commitment, the same as straight couples.....Not to mention that it is also a legal contract....

Moonie I think some people can fight their true leanings to a certain extent, there must be lots of gay people over the years who have married and had children to be conventional and fit in, doesn't mean they were happy about it I know of a few myself.....

i have no feelings about it really
if either of my boys were gay i would accept it
but i dont see the diference between a civil partnership or a marriage
they are both a commitment

If you aren't attracted to women, then how can you possibly get married and have children ?

I find this very odd, plus in this day and age there's no need to do it for appearances sake.

And also, why would you want to ruin the lives of your wife and children because you were so damn selfish you wanted everyone think you were "normal" , then decide you couldn't be bothered any more and leave them stranded ?

That's a horrible thing to do.

Being gay doesn't preclude some gay men from being able to have sex with a woman.

It is. But some gays fight their gayness; it's ok saying that these days no one bothers if someone is gay. That's the theory but I reckon the practice is still different.

I'm not so sure that homosexuality is inborn - but is more likely to be acquired during youth.

Whichever it is, it cannot, IMO, be described as normal, and I think our PM was stupid to champion its cause.

Certain aspects of it can only be described as disgusting.

Aggers you are entitled to your opinion but I am also entitled to say I find it bigoted I am sorry, as you are a very nice man, but I just cannot agree with you on this.
