The visit to the vets today....

Debih I'm sure any of us would feel the same.

I know the vet's the professional and all, but still don't quite understand why they're saying to feed her diluted tinned food...plain rice and later cooked chicken were all Minnie was allowed or could tolerate and I thought that was pretty standard advice for any kind of digestive problem
Before that she had some liquid stuff from the vet but just one little bottle, a teaspoon at a time.

It's because it has to be liquid at the moment Di to try to give her throat a rest. The ulcers make it difficult for her to swallow - the antepcin coats her throat for about an hour allowing her to get her food down but any big lumps could aggrevate it. As soon as she gets to the point where she isn't being sick then I will switch her to rice and chicken as I know it works wonders.

But I will ask them when I go today as I think the rice will be much better for her tummy but I don't know if I can get it liquid enough.

She kept her breakfast down anyway. She only had a bowl with two spoons of diluted meat in it and she dashed outside at the end but managed to keep it down. I didn't dare risk giving her a second bowl!

I keep telling myself "in three months time this will all be a long forgotten memory".

It is keeping me going (but I really hope its true!!

If the vet can't suggest anything else I think you could probably cook rice, then either don't drain or put in a liquidiser/processor and whizz with a little water? And maybe add a bit of chicken to the rice while it cooks.

The problem with her ear is just a bad scratch that I can use Savlon on.

They want us to stick to a very plain easily digestible tinned food, watered down for now and then once she hasn't been sick for at least two weeks I can start putting less water in and leaving a few more lumps. Then look at changing her diet slowly to rice and plain boiled chicken.

At the moment they are still positive that the problem isn't her stomach but the ulcers. They think that the vomiting on New Years Day and yesterday could be to do with an upset tummy bought on by the fireworks on NYE and that the antacid has probably settled that down.

All this takes such a long time, and you have done marvels with her, not surprised you're feeling crap. It's such a stressful time for you xx
