sadly about 6,000 Turkish children go missing here every year (mostly organ transplants)
Oh dear god
Yes Kaz very distressing, but is very big business over this side of the world (not onlyTurkey btw) Although often times it transpires that the child was reported ''taken'', police involved etc and it later becomes known that they were sold by their own parents - usually Fathers/brothers.
Turkey in parts being extremely wealthy and at the other end of the scale if you can't find work - you and your family don't eat - no social welfare, housing, health care etc. So if you have 12 to feed and no chance of a job - sell one and the rest can maybe survive
Although must stress that most Turkish people are modern in outlook, honest, hardworking and decent, there will always be those who cling to the ''old ways'' mainly girls are chattels to be married off, sold etc. İn some parts dowry's are still required.
So yes a very sad state of affairs
