That's a good move WM. Making the resolution part of the training. Great that people want to go through it though. Because many just want it fixed then back onto what they were doing.

Exactly right about the questions. Often people are scared to ask. As far as I'm concerned there are no dumb questions as it means you don't know and in the world of computing and the internet you do need to know.
There are 10 types of people in the world:
Those who understand Binary and those who do not.

My MIL is 78 this year, and Skypes her grandson who is working in Spain for the summer, and uses email and occasionally Facebook. My Aunty - Rose of the joke threads fame - is the same age and uses email, plays games and also dips her toe into internet dating   Apparently that is also popular with older net users   8-)

I think it's a fantastic tool for people of all ages :) :) 8-)

And it does bring people together, as the think-tank proposes.

Had it not been for the Internet, you and I and Scarlet and Liz would have never met. Nor would Shell and Ria, Debs and Osc, Gal and Janie..... and on it goes.

Suff and I, Nick and Ossie and Aggers, who argue over many things yet agree on so many others, would never have even come together.

For me, that is what it's about.

Yes, I do tend to diss Twitbook, but I do know that many 'Silver Surfers' find that those sites keep them connected with family and friends in ways that they could never have imagined not so long ago.

I must agree that it is a fascinating pastime, and it is a great experience making new cyber friends.
The only problem I find is that it takes up such a lot of time. This fact can be, of course, a good
thing for those who live solitary lives and have few other interests, but when one has many other
hobbies and interests it can present problems, as computing can gobble up a lot of time.

It is certainly an absorbing hobby, and one never seems to stop learning. There's still many things I can't do yet.

I find it very hard to believe that anyone of reasonable intelligence can reach pensionable age without being computer literate. So easy these days when most things are done for you. Not like when I started to struggle with Basic programmes. :)

Not having a computer in the first place might play a part. :) :)
