Idiot proof cheesecake

Postby tonicha » 30 Jun 2014, 22:38

without the cream if possible, as I can't get any

Not made one before  but I found packet of digestives in the cupboard which need to be used up before they get really soft.

Things like marscapone cheese is also difficult to find, so anything easy and idiot proof would be lovely, thank you xx

How can you have a cheese-free cheesecake? LOL. It would have to be an uncheesecake.

Just dunk 'em in your coffee :D

Tiffin? (yeah, golden syrup, not likely huh? - but if you google there are probably others without)

Posh fruit tart?
Make base then add this

And fruit - strawberries?

This one's without cornflour

Or....get a digestive, put a teeny bit of chocolate on it and wazz it in the microwave for a nano second.

Then pop a marshmallow on the wazzed melted chocolate digestive.

2 seconds in the microwave results in a gooey choccymarshmallow mess- guaranteed sexy biscuits.

Oh wait....wrong thread.

I know Kaz lol, and I think either would be a bit of a problem 'cos aren't unbaked cheesecakes usually cream cheese with cream of some sort...I presume the cream is what helps it set, as well as make it not just cheesy :D

Don't know if anything like creme fraiche is available either; you could make something mixing cream cheese and thick yoghurt, sweeten it a bit then layer it with the bashed biscuits and eg strawberries.

I can get creme fraiche at Intermarche, that's the only supermarket that stocks it    on a regular basis.

Other than that, I'll just have to google and see what I can find.

Our cream cheese is vile and although we can get a version of cream, it's nothing like the "proper" cream   I'd ask Jenny, but her mum is really ill in hospital and I don't want to bother her.

Thank you all xx :D :D I'll sort something out ;)
