Don't know why you are bothering with all this. Nip down to Crown Carvery for a splendid breakfast for under four quid if it's a fry-up you want.

Four quid... for ONE breakfast!

I am not Richard bally Branston! That's £28 a week! I can make months of breakfasts for that price. And don't forget, I am a Yorkshireman born and bred.   ;)

You shouldn't have bacon and stuff every morning anyway - not good for you. Have a nice bowl of porridge instead.

Ah yes, but at the Crown Carvery locally, it's ALL YOU CAN EAT. So for £5.49 (that's Rodo's £3.99 + a coffee), I demolish 4 fried eggs, 8 hash browns, 6 plum tomatoes, and 7 rashers of bacon.

I'm not a glutton. I forego the baked beans, the sausages (bit too fatty for my taste, Rodo) and the fried bread ....

I've been budgeting for two such breakfasts a week, merely something to do while Mrs O is up at the physiotherapy clinic, you understand. Cut those purse strings, WM ...

Liz, you took the words right out of my mouth.

And "No!" Ossie, I am not cutting any strings. My wallet is staying firmly shut and kept in the deepest of my deep pockets. :o  :P

I am determined to produce edible streaky bacon for roughly £1 per lb. :geek:
