My parents love their pressure cooker. I've never used a slow cooker. The microwave is mainly used for defrosting and heating up a cuppa when John's left it to go cold. The only food that I can think of that gets cooked in there is porridge and we don't have that very often now.

I sort of use my microwave a lot. Every morning to heat up the milk for my coffee, to defrost or reheat (same as Frank and Di when I cook, I cook enough to freeze). But mostly it's used as an oven. It's a combination microwave and when using it on convection (ie oven mode) it heats up loads quicker than the oven and (I know it's mind over matter) but I think it's more energy efficient using the smaller microwave than a large oven for just one person.

Not at all, Ria, I have one of those mini ovens and it is hot in seconds and appears to do things quicker, mind, it is fan assisted, but so was my old convection microwave when used as an oven..
