Horribly sad as it is to say it, I'll take a corrupt pragmatist over an honest fool, in the running of the country, most days of the week.

Neville Chamberlain comes to mind...

I would rather a pragmatic, smart, sensible, economy orientated, incorruptible and hard driving person at the helm with a social conscience and an eye to the general health of the nation.

Sadly I'm unlikely to ever see one.

I write on Facebook yesterday with regard to that obnoxious Dianne Abbots references to the idle rich who place their children in private and public schools, to discover that she had placed her young son in a fee paying school, when approached she snapped "it was my son's decision to go to a private school "nothing to do with me".
She truly must be one of the most obnoxious individuals ever to set foot in Westminster.. I dread for the future of this country, Merkel is finally admitting that she has bitten off more than she can chew stupid woman. Yes allow the Syrians with young ones in, send "all the rest of the opportunists back to their countries of origin that will cost the tax payers billions to fight their wars, not allowing them the security in UK whilst it will fall on our own diluted military to fight their battles created in my opinion by Bush and B'Liar "The then Peace Envoy" who has made millions from his crime..two idiots who have totally de stabilised the Middle East following their invasion and destruction of Iraq. "All for Oil?"

I see Corbyn has abandoned his anti-EU stance. That didn't take long.

He was voted in by people who agreed with his hard line uncompromising views and his principles. Unfortunately now that he is leader of the party he has found the it is all about compromise. The hard-lefties wont be too happy.

Well there is that bit about pragmatism. He leads a parliament of MP’s who are EUPhiles. No matter what he said during his campaigning, he believes he will have to work with them in order to provide a viable opposition.

If, in fact, he were the ultimately principled man that he was made out to be during his campaign, with the backing of over 60% of the party, then he would not do this. He would sit all the MP’s down, tell them that it was the party’s way or the highway (embodied by what he offered and what they voted for), then tell them that they either get behind him or be ejected from the party to become independents, be deselected at the next election and have to face a Labour candidate if they chose to fight the seat.

He has the time, he has the opportunity. He could do it. Even if they did get together and have a vote of no confidence and force another leadership election, I’d be willing to bet that he would come back with an even bigger majority in that scenario.

Instead he has chosen to “politic” his way through this, instead of standing up for what he said he stood for and forcing the others to either put up or shut up. That, I assume, will be his eventual demise. Because that is Blairite politics. Not fundamental left wing politics.

Blair may be gone, but the staff and advisors are all the same.
