Dis - ah - stah !!

Postby TheOstrich » 28 Dec 2016, 13:39

Oh dear. The Ostrich has put on 8 lbs over Christmas.

Must have been something to do with eating a whole Terry's Chocolate Orange with the Christmas Pudding and Ambrosia Devon Custard ... :?

Mrs O then weighed herself and said "about the same!"

I said "Do you mean "about the same" weight as before Christmas, or you've put on "about the same" as the Ostrich?"

Apparently the latter ......

Don't tell the ruddy NHS, will you - they'll have a field day ....

Personally I've lost a little since I came back. Mind you I was eating about 4-5 meals a day to get over the ibuprofen sickness because of the sheer amount of them I was taking. Also not helped by comfort eating.

Since getting home I've been eating 1-2 meals a day and being as good as I can. Now Christmas is essentially over, I'm working on getting a half a stone off by the time I head back to work.

Well, work is work. I'm fitting a new utility with new sink and plumbing. The washing machine was moved before Christmas and I'm finishing up that run now. Then I'll start work on the outside and cut into the wall which had the washing machine in it. When I take that space under the outside stairs into the house, we'll have a new freezer room.

Plenty to do and easy to avoid eating so much when you are occupied.

I'm having salad for tea! :)

Later I may have one of the individual Christmas puds that I bought and forgot about, and I might open the box of Bendicks that my parents gave me.

That gain is in about a fortnight. It's crazy, the weight does tend to go up and down like a yoyo ...... but then I have always tended to "fluctuate" a bit.

Weighing at the same time of day, and sans fevvers.

Obviously the effect of Christmas, and indulging in usually forbidden treats (bread, pastries, chocs), so a concerted effort to get back on track in the New Year.

I have two chocolate oranges at home. I only eat a few segments each day so they can last a week.
Am trying to lose weight but it is very hard. Will go on a strict diet when we get home from our cruise.

I have been very good, but I will still do a fast come the NY. I need to get down to about 13 st, or 82 kg, so a huge loss needed.

Currently 17 st.
