I have just been watching a former intelligence chief on the news, re London, asking what more
we can do, blah, blah, blah, the communities, blah, blah? [/quote]
They are just running through the playbook. On cue, here come the candlelit vigils, the joint multi faith marches and the usual cliches about "we must not let these people divide us" etc etc. Well, the country is already divided and only a twit would deny it. Ten miles from where I live is Savile Town, Dewsbury. 95% plus Moslem. If it wasn't for the rain you could be in Pakistan. Urdu is the language spoken in the homes, cousins marry cousins, women rarely have paid employment. It's a closed society. I'm 61 and in all my life I've never known a Pakistani girl be allowed to go out with a white boy. It's unheard of. And you will never, ever get a mainstream politician who is willing to acknowledge this or even to talk about it.
I worked for years with a Pakistani bloke. Nice man, educated, good manners. Because he had known me so long he was quite open about saying that his children would not be allowed to marry white people. Turn that statement around and the politicians would have a field day.
Workingman wrote:I also think that it is time the media and authorities stopped hiding behind calling these 'the community' and come straight out and say Moslems/Muslims, for that is what they are and where the problems lie.
It's laughable. They would on tiptoes around the very word Muslim. The top cop the other day said the attacker was "Inspired by international terrorism". Oh please!
